Jorge Luis Tavares

He is our March employee spotlight!!

He has been at Tosh Farms for 9 years. He is a Wash Bay Tech, and he helps to keep all of the equipment and trailers at Tosh clean. At the Wash Bay, they have to follow guidelines to ensure any trailers that carry baby pigs are disinfected to prevent infections from spreading. They also keep all of the farm equipment clean and ready to go.

Jorge and his wife of 6 years, Maria, have a daughter named Emma. They call her their miracle baby as she was born at 28 weeks weighing only 1lb 14.5oz.

“She has been a warrior through a very complex medical journey, but is happy and thriving at home with us.”

When he is not at Tosh, you can find Jorge cutting trees or mowing yards for his lawncare business, Chucky’s Lawncare, or cooking tacos at their family store/restaurant, Emma’s Market, in Henry.

His plan at the moment is to continue working with Tosh Farms and growing his business.

“I am very grateful for my time working at Tosh Farms. I started out loading pigs for 5 years, then 4 years ago I moved to the Wash bay. Tosh Farms has allowed me to provide for my family and we are very grateful for the opportunities to learn and grow through the years.”

Jorge, you are an awesome employee, and we are grateful for you!! You show true dedication and loyalty to not only your own family, but the Tosh family too. We hope you stay for another 9 years, and keep up the hard work. Thank you for all you do!
