Rachel Stegall

Meet Rachel Stegall!
She is a Swine Health Tech and has worked at Tosh Farms for 4 years now. She started as a breeding specialist at our Martin sow farm in 2021. In 2022, she was promoted to her current position, which involves ordering animal health products for all the sow farms and maintaining animal health inventory for all wean-to-market sites.
Rachel performs animal well-being audits quarterly for all sow-farms, and bi-annujally for wean-to-market sites. She also monitors compliance with PQA training and provides new employees with PQA certification training. For those who don’t know, PQA is a certification training program that offers training to pig farmers and their employees on how to continually improve production practices.
As her schedule allows, she also visits schools and career fairs to share information about how we raise pigs and career opportunities at Tosh Farms.
Outside of work, Rachel does more work. She has horses, goats, and chickens, oh my! Not long after moving back to Tennessee from Alabama, she was able to buy a 25-acre farm. She’s had colts, chicks, about 1000 goats. (just [KIDDING]) She likes breeding the chickens for rainbow/colored eggs!
Rachel said that her experience at Tosh has been great.
“I enjoy working with the people. I get to meet other employees, growers, and others in the swine industry with my job and travels.”
Rachel does a lot with and for the herd at Tosh Farms. She is dedicated and committed to the animals at work and at home. She is fully aware of how much work it is to keep up every day, and she still does it. Thank you, Rachel, for everything you do for the welfare of the animals at Tosh Pork. You are doing a great job!
